The one-paragraph version

What is Punctive?

Punctive is an AI-grounded compliance advisory platform with professional human review, built for small and mid-size life-sciences companies. It pairs an AI advisor that answers from a verified, citable body of compliance source material with credentialed human reviewers who exercise professional judgment. That division of labor matches what most compliance leaders already believe about AI: the AI reads and recommends, and the human expert judges and decides. Punctive is built for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical-device companies that carry big-company compliance obligations without big-company headcount. It is designed to grow with each client, from the first written policy to a mature, defensible compliance program. Punctive is currently in development with early design partners; general availability is targeted for late 2026. The AI reads and recommends. The human expert judges and decides.

The approach

How does Punctive use AI in compliance?

Compliance work is mostly reading: regulations, guidance, codes of practice, and a company's own policies, held against the facts of a specific situation. That part is what AI is genuinely good at, and Punctive uses it there — its advisor answers from verified source material and shows where each answer comes from, rather than generating unsupported text.

Judgment is a different kind of work. Decisions with real consequences are made by people, and professional human review is part of the platform itself — not a disclaimer attached to it. Punctive is built so that the line between the two stays visible: what was read, what was concluded, and who decided.

The audience

Who is Punctive for?

Small and mid-size life-sciences companies — pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical-device firms that face substantially the same regulatory expectations as companies many times their size, usually with a compliance team of one, or none yet. Their obligations are real and specific: rules governing engagement with healthcare professionals, transparency reporting under the federal Open Payments program and state equivalents, and the documentation that regulators expect to find when they look.

Punctive is designed to grow with a client: the platform that answers a young company's first compliance questions should still fit when that company has a mature program to run. Starting small is the design premise, not an edge case.
